“Hot Air Balloon Festival in Albuquerque, New Mexico”

LifeJourneyGuy posted video:

Here are some of the photos I’ve taken at the massive Hot Air Balloon Festival, held each year in Albuquerque, New Mexico . . . hundreds of balloons participate every year . . . the cost for the fancy “specialty balloons” exceeds well over $100,000.

The great thing about these events, is that they allow you to wander around EVERYWHERE as the balloons are being setup and inflated!

That must have been a GREAT experience!!! I was amazed the first time I watched the dawn patrol; I previously had NO idea how much the balloons lit UP as the burners fired!!

I agree! I’m always amazed that people can sew all those massive amounts of fabric together and end UP with balloons that look so good! (versus a MESS if I!! had to put it all together! LOL)

I’ve been to many hot air balloon events, but have never actually been up in one yet, but everybody I’ve talked to loves it! :) (I’m more of a high speed adrenaline junkie (like ridin’ fast motorcycles)) (Pete)

Ivansky1 @ 11:37 am

How long have you been flying Hot Air Balloons?
Is it fun?

LifeJourneyGuy @ 8:35 pm

It’s REALLY fun to get there in time to watch the “Dawn Patrol”! So the website for the event should say when that is, so I’d be there at least 30 minutes before that, so in other words, at this weekend event, I always assumed I wouldn’t be gettin’ much SLEEP for those days! :) :) Have FUN!! (Pete)

What time is the best to arrive? We figured to try and get there around 6:30?

LifeJourneyGuy @ 9:44 pm

I’m SURE she will!! I just LOVE watchin’ as the staging area goes from NO balloons up, to a whole “CITY” of towering balloons!! The whole experience is AMAZING! Be sure to arrive EARLY!!! (to avoid car traffic jams! :) )
