My husband is a US permanent resident, what does he need to travel to Mexico in 2 weeks?
fairymami21805 asked:
He has a green card. He has been a resident of the US for almost 10 years and we want to go to Reynosa Mexico only for a day trip. What does he need?

His green card and a valid driver’s liscense is all that he should need for a day trip.
The Green Card will allow your husband to return to the US, but is irrelevant in Mexico - he should also carry his passport to document his citizenship.
See the following site for more information:
His birth certificate and his green card SHOULD be enough to get him into Mexico (it may depend on which country he was born in and is still a citizen of…) BUT after January 1st. 2007 he WILL need a valid passport to re-enter the US, NO exceptions…….
He need his passport, if he is flying from any USA airport, if he cross the border by land, just need his green card to re-enter USA, I’ve done it a dozen times. Good luck!
