I need information to travel to Mexico. so help please? ?

I’m 16 yrs old and my mom wants to send me to Mexico(Acapulco, Mexico to be more exact) as soon as possible but is wondering what do I need to go to Mexico and come back to the US. I don’t have a passport(parents haven’t gotten it yet but soon enough they will) but what I do have is my birth-certificate, and my California Identification card. So what can I use to travel to Mexico and come back from those two items I have.

I live in texas n always go to mexico just to visit. And all you need is ur birth certificate and your state ID.
By air you will need a passport - you will not board the plane w/o it. By land you will need a notarized letter from your parents and birth cert.

If you fly, you must have a passport. if you travel by land, your birth certificate and state I.d. card. Then you need a letter of permission singed by both parents and notarized. see site below and read section on minors under “Entry Requirements.”
birth certificate/I.D. and yes since you are a minor you will need a written letter of consent from a parent/guardian and if you fly you need a passport or you can’t get in to Mexico.
