Eclectic. That’s the best word to describe the discoveries you will make on this drive from Santa Fe to Albuquerque. It’s not the fast way, or the short way… but it is, arguably, the best way to travel between two of New Mexico’s key cities.

mi trip to new mexico for mi b-day so much fun

Here are some of the photos I’ve taken at the massive Hot Air Balloon Festival, held each year in Albuquerque, New Mexico . . . hundreds of balloons participate every year . . . the cost for the fancy “specialty balloons” exceeds well over $100,000.

The great thing about these events, is that they allow you to wander around EVERYWHERE as the balloons are being setup and inflated!
